motivated, service oriented employees. Our Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians respond to over 80,000 calls annually throughout 4,000 square miles. American Ambulance employs 450 personnel and operates more than 70 ambulances. We operate one of the most unique and diverse EMS systems in the state of California.
American Ambulance
serves a population base of over 1,000,000 and responds to 100,000 requests
annually. We are 90 miles south of Yosemite National Park and 3 hours
from Los Angeles and San Francisco.
At American Ambulance,
you will use the latest equipment, including pen-based
computers, and work under standing orders.
American Ambulance
also operates a helicopter division and has a rescue team trained in
high-angle, swiftwater, SCUBA, and SWAT rescue.

Paramedic
|
Paramedics are the most vital position in the delivery of patient care at American Ambulance. Paramedics at American Ambulance must have compassion of their patients, be clinically knowledgeable, technically proficient and adaptable to varied environments.

EMT-1
|
Whether working on an ALS unit, BLS unit, or a Neonatal Transport unit, Emergency Medical Technicians play an important role in our team approach to patient care. In a Paramedic/EMT system with limited First Responder resources available, EMTs have a great deal of responsibility to ensure scene operations run smoothly and safely.

Dispatcher
|
American Ambulance Dispatchers staff and operate the Fresno County EMS Communications Center which dispatches ambulances for the entire county of Fresno, Kings, and Madera. Dispatchers at American Ambulance provide callers with pre-arrival instructions and utilize the latest technology in Computer Aided Dispatch.

Support Services
|
Support Services personnel (SSTs) perform many different tasks in supporting our system. Whether inventorying, washing, fueling, or restocking an ambulance or picking up and delivering equipment, SSTs are a vital component of the American Ambulance team.
