Year Event
1975 Company founded by four Emergency Medical Technicians to provide non-emergency ambulance service and medical supply delivery in Fresno.
1976 American Ambulance acquires Fresno Ambulance.
1984 American Ambulance enters into a joint venture with Jones Ambulance to form a county wide EMS group and is awarded a 2 year 7 month exclusive contract to be the paramedic provider in Fresno County.
1984 American Ambulance purchases Jones Ambulance.
1987 American Ambulance wins a competitive bid process and is awarded an extension on the exclusive contract to be the sole paramedic provider in Fresno County.
1991 American Ambulance enters a joint venture with Rogers Helicopters to form ROAM and begins critical air transportation service as SkyLife of Central California.
1994 American Ambulance, in cooperation with the County of Fresno, builds a state of the art EMS Communications Center.
1996 American Ambulance is awarded a 3rd Fresno County Exclusive Operating Agreement.
1999 American Ambulance begins operations of Basic Life Support division to provide non-emergency ambulance transportation.
2000 American Ambulance is awarded a Kings County Ambulance provider contract.
2000 American Ambulance is accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) with a CAAS Gold standard.
2001 American Ambulance is awarded an extension to its Fresno County Ambulance provider contract.
2002 American Ambulance relocates its administrative, billing and operations department to a new building in the downtown Fresno Area. The new facility has been specifically designed to support the company's operations and technology needs.
2002 SkyLife of Central California is national accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS).
2004 American Ambulance is awarded an extension to its Fresno County Ambulance provider contract.
2005 American Ambulance is awarded an extension to its Kings County Ambulance provider contract.
2006 American Ambulance begins dispatching for Madera County Ambulance Providers and Fresno City Fire.
2006 American Ambulance begins dispatching for Clovis City Fire.
2007 American Ambulance wins a competitive bid process and is awarded a contract to be the sole paramedic provider in Fresno County.
2008 American Ambulance begins dispatching for Sanger Fire Department.
2009 American Ambulance begins dispatching for Kingsburg Fire Department.
2010 American Ambulance wins a competitive bid process and is awarded a contract to be the sole paramedic provider in Kings County.
2011 American Ambulance is awarded an extension to its Fresno County Ambulance provider contract.
2012 American Ambulance begins providing paramedic services and dispatching services for the City of Selma.
